I did my part. National Ammo Day
Dunham's continues to amaze me with their pricing. $17.99 for a 525 of Golden Bullet, $4,00 for a 50 pack |
Winchester 333 as much as Remington 525. That's $27 for 525 of Winchester 333. |
$27.50 for 500 for tactical 22. Call it tactical and charge more. |
Remember how the 50 round packs were $1.49. 525 pack pricing makes no sense. |
Bazer costing more than plated bullets. |
100oz coffee mug seen next door to the Dunham's |

S&W M&P 15-22 Firing Pin Spring Swap for the Timney 3lb Trigger
First step. Remove bolt as usual for an AR15. Separate the bolt from the carrier |
Original firing pin spring (fps). Sorry its upside down. All measurements in millimeters. |
Diameter of original FPS |
Diameter of new FPS |
Reinstall everything in reverse order. Be sure to use a brass punch for the cotter pin so you don't dent it. Make sure that the recess in the firing pin lines up with the cotter pin. You'll have to slightly push in the firing pin while driving in the cotter pin to get them to line up.
ABSOLUTELY MAKE SURE TO TEST FOR SLAMFIRES.
Do this by using a shell that has been fired or better by removing the bullet and powder. Load the shell into the chamber by hand. Rip the bolt back and let it fly a bunch of times. Make sure you haven't just created an open bolt gun.
Lastly, make sure to test some already fired shells or ones with no powder or primer when going back to the old hammer. You may get too much of a strike or pierce the primer with the lighter spring and the OEM hammer.
This is why the firing pin is now inertia driven: http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2010/07/31/sw-mp-15-22-kaboom/
S&W redesigned the FP system after this started happening.
Let me know how it works for you.

Days of our Trailers: I will be the next CEO at Brady
2006-present…I got a job where I get wheel-barrels full of cash to post offensive and untruthful comments on Huffington Post articles. It’s a pretty easy gig but it’s kinda boring. I’d much rather spout offensive and untruthful comments on a National level, hence my interest in the Brady Campaign.

Another Murder Linked to US Gunwalker Case - CBS News Investigates - CBS News
More great reporting by Sharyl Attkisson. I believe Fox broke this first, but it was unconfirmed.
Apparently 2 more AK variants from Fast and Furious showed up at another crime scene.

For a quick comparison lets use IRS 990 tax exempt forms to compare grassroots support. All forms used were from 2009. http://www.charitynavigator.org/index.cfm?bay=content.view&cpid=847

Contributions and grants: 66,939,159
Avg donation: $25 (although $10 is their lowest, we'll use $25 for good comparison)
Average membership cost: $35, although it is often much lower, and doesn't count life members.
Rough estimate of number of donors: 66,939,159 / 25 = 2,677,566 (this number is most likely overlaps heavily with the membership number)
Rough estimate of number of members (35): 113,969,660 / 35 = 3,256,276 (which is low by 1,000,000)

New ideas.
So after thinking about the total disaster that CADL v MOC became, I decided that the fights in the battle over guns is a local one most of the time.
So I decided to take this blog in a new direction (was there any directions to begin with?). Instead of focusing on federal issues, I've decided to focus locally. There are already a lot of bloggers who cover national issues, and I can only think of a few that cover Michigan issues.
I'll start with a summary of legislation that will potentially affect Michiganders, local law suits, and of course the open carry crowd and their struggles against restrictive laws.
